Joe Baione is a jazz vibraphonist, composer, and bandleader whose music blends swing, groove, soul, and storytelling. A 27-year public school music educator turned full-time performer, Joe brings a deep sense of purpose, warmth, and honesty to every note he plays.
Leading The Joe Baione Vibraphone Experience, he performs original music rooted in tradition yet alive with modern energy—often incorporating vocals, spoken word, and multi-generational themes inspired by family, mentorship, and lived experience. His work honors the legacy of his late father, a composer whose music Joe continues to share, and frequently features his daughter Alexis Baione, adding a powerful father-daughter dynamic to the band’s sound.
Joe’s recent album Vibe Check (2024) received strong critical acclaim and spent 6 months on the JazzWeek charts Top 60 and his music was played over 75 radio stations across the country. He has performed at major venues and festivals including Dizzy’s Club, Keystone Korner, Chris’ Jazz Cafe, Jacksonville Jazz Festival, Clearwater Jazz Holiday, Rochester Jazz Festival among may others and has collaborated with legendary artists such as Benny Golson, whose mentorship deeply shaped Joe’s artistic philosophy.
